Nice to virtually meet you! Here's what you need to know about me.

Steve Healey

Prior to becoming a Career Ownership Coach at The Entrepreneur’s Source, I held senior level positions in Retail, Information Systems, ERP Consulting and IT Sales.

In many ways, I have been coaching all my life!  Whether it was coaching executive leaders to realize what had to change within their organization from an operational and/or technology standpoint so that the organization could react/adjust faster and more efficiently to changing consumer trends; or if it was seeing the potential in someone who needed some guidance and encouragement to take their game to the next level, coaching has always been my passion.  Let’s face it…. change can be very agonizing for many people.  It is human nature for people and organizations to want to stay within their comfort zone.  But change can also be something very exciting too because it represents a new journey and adventure!  I have never been one to stay complacent in my comfort zone.  As you can see by the various types of careers that I have held, I love challenging myself to learn new things, dream big, and embrace being outside of my comfort zone.  I hope that I can help coach you to dream big; believe in yourself; embrace being ‘temporarily’ uncomfortable with change and realize your income, lifestyle, wealth and equity goals.

If you would like to see the actual positions that I have held, visit my LinkedIn page at linkedin.com/in/stephenhealey1

I also encourage you to review some recent LinkedIn testimonials from clients that I have coached.

Work history.

I started my career in Retail and worked my way up the ladder to leadership roles in both Store Operations and Merchandising.  In the mid-80’s, the demand for improved computer technology and system applications integration started to skyrocket and I wanted to be part of it.  It was a bold move on my part but I decided to pivot my career and went back to school to learn programming.  It was at this point in my career that I learned to embrace change and the fear that comes with it.  The combination of my retail and supply chain knowledge coupled with my technology training opened up a whole new set of opportunities for me.  I worked my way up the Information Technology ladder to VP of Information Systems for a couple organizations.  I also started a professional services company from the ground up creating a revenue stream of $600,000 per month after just 3 months.  I then spent the next 8 years travelling around the USA, Canada and Europe directing ERP systems implementations along with operational process improvements and M&A initiatives for Enterprise level retail organizations.  I pivoted again into software services sales and eventually was hired by Cisco Systems to help spearhead a new 3 year initiative to transform their product and services sales organizations from a transactional sales model to a consultative sales model.  The initiative was so successful that it was extended two additional years.  Cisco then made the commitment to their shareholders to cut expenses by 10%; mostly in the staffing area.  My division had accomplished the sales transformation process and was low hanging fruit so we were disbanded.  Next, I decided to take a year sabbatical.  After a year off, I was eager to find my next job!  Unfortunately, and for the first time in my life, I struggled to find work.  Doors that used to be open were no longer open.  I also experienced  ageism in the hiring process.  After several months of looking for work, I eventually landed a position running a new E-commerce division for a local packaging company.  I enjoyed the new challenge but my compensation was much lower and I was drawing from my retirement funds to compensate.  Eventually, that company decided to pool all it’s resources into location expansion and my division was fazed out.  Finding work was even harder this time around and I eventually realized I could no longer afford count on Corporate America to control my destiny.  That is when I decided to start my own company as a Career Ownership Coach.  I love what I do; pay myself well; control of my own destiny; have great work/life balance and know I will never be let go from a corporate job again!

Coaching highlights.

I started Career Ownership Coaching in 2018 and have worked with hundreds of clients thus far.  My program is unique because unlike other career coaches in the market, I dive deeper into the inner workings and experiences of my clients in order to better understand the skills and strengths that my clients have acquired in their personal and professional lives.  Using a combination of interpersonal skills, listening techniques and proven short assessment tools, I help my clients uncover their transferable skills along with their income, lifestyle, wealth, equity goals.  We tackle fears, stresses and other outside influences that get in the way of moving forward in life.  I do not pay too much attention to the financial aspects associated with my business.  My philosophy is if you do right by others, good things will come your way and so my focus and my passion is helping my clients achieve clarity about the next phase of their career.

If that clarity means staying in Corporate America, fantastic!  If it means venturing down an entrepreneurial path, fantastic!  I am proud of the fact that my free resume review offering has helped many of my clients stand out from the crowd for corporate positions and achieve interviews and job offers.  I am also proud that I have helped clients of mine gain clarity to become entrepreneurs.  This includes businesses related to disaster recovery services, fitness & wellness, staffing, expense recovery services, IT consulting, training and education, elder care, executive coaching, business coaching, handyman and home improvement, pet services, marketing services, quick service food concepts, career ownership coaching, temporary office space; and others.

If you are open to coaching and exploring opportunities that maybe you never have considered in the past, reach out to me.  I want to help those who want and need help.

“I started with just me and one truck, working out of my garage. I now have four employees, and I am in a commercial space. The earnings potential is pretty well limitless at this point. I am busy. I do have to spend time away from my family just as I did before. But now, if I want to stay home and cook my kids breakfast, I can. On nice sunny days, if I want to cut out early to take the kids swimming, I do. I don’t just have weekends to choose from anymore.”
